Candidature Eligibility

(1) Maharashtra State Candidature: A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

Candidature Type:

Type Eligibility Criterion
TYPE A For First Year: -
(a) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC from a recognised institution in Masharashtra State;

(b) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra;
TYPE  B   A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
TYPE  C A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
TYPE  D A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
TYPE  E Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi. The 865 village of Maharashtra Karnataka Border area notified by the State Government for this purpose shall be considered.

 

(2)All India Candidature:The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.

(3) Minority Candidature: The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.

(4) Children of NRI / OCI / PIO: Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National – These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET 2024.

Note:

It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET 2024 for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to B.E./B. Tech. However, All India Candidature candidates may or may not appear for MHT-CET 2024 as Score of JEE (Main) shall be preferred over MHT-CET 2024 for admission to B.E./B. Tech.

Eligibility Criteria

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate. -

  • The Candidate should be an Indian National;

  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies , and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and The Candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in CET and should obtain non zero score in MHT-CET 2024.

OR

  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);

 

All India Candidature Candidates, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidature Candidates. –

  • The Candidate should be an Indian National;

  • Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in  case of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and should obtain non zero positive score in JEE Main (B.E/B.Tech) or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in CET and should obtain non zero score in CET

However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in JEE Main(B.E/B.Tech) over the candidates who obtained non zero score in CET.

  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, economically Weaker Section     and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
